Wait For God
We know Peter got out of the boat because Jesus said come - it was time to leave the boat for Peter.
Noah was told to stay in the boat… Both men were in storms.
Noah is where my mind went. When we are in what seems the storm of all storms, situational storms we have never encountered, God will put us in a boat or aka His way of protecting. If we fight the door open and exit before it’s time, during the storm or when the storm is over; we drown! Just like Noah would have done had he not stayed in the boat…
Just because the storm ends doesn’t mean it’s safe to exit yet. Sometimes there is a season of waiting that accompanies the storm.
We all have one situation or another but it’s the waiting that is sometimes the hardest. We can get so accustomed to the rocking of the waves that the rain just becomes our normal life! Noah probably didn’t want to exit with the rain pouring down, but when it stopped and I can only imagine the antsy readiness to get out of the boat. Until God opens the door for the exit: STAY IN THE BOAT! Waiting is also for our own benefit. God knows what He is doing.
Just Wait. Wait for Him to open the door; wait for His timing. It will always be perfect and there’s peace in knowing we don’t have to figure it out. I doubt Noah measured how deep the water was everyday. I can’t imagine that he tested the door… He did send out a raven and a dove expecting a change though, same as our prayers when we send them up. We too have to expect a change coming! Some day that door will open and we will walk in newness of life just like Noah.
If you’re in a storm or season of waiting - stay put until He says its time!
It won’t last forever, the door WILL open for an exceptional, beautiful view of God’s glory.
Just like the first - it will be worth the wait! Follow His instructions, that’s the key!
